Minds Behind the Magic: A Producers' Roundtable

Lisa Joy is an American screenwriter, director, producer, attorney, and co-founder of the production company Kilter Films. She is best known as the co-creator, writer, director, and executive producer of the HBO science-fiction drama series Westworld. For her work on the series, she received multiple Primetime Emmy Award nominations. Lisa’s other work includes the ABC comedy series Pushing Daisies and the USA Network crime drama series Burn Notice.

 

Nina Yang Bongiovi is a BAFTA-nominated, award-winning film producer known to have launched some of the most lauded auteur filmmakers’ careers, like Ryan Coogler, Chloe Zhao, Boots Riley, and Rebecca Hall through their feature directorial debuts. She is a member of The Academy’s (AMPAS) Producers Branch, national board member for the Producers Guild, and is the Associate Chair at USC School of Cinematic Arts’ Peter Stark Producing MFA program. Notably, Nina was awarded by Variety – the Creative Impact Award in Producing in 2023.

 

Christina Oh is an Academy Award-nominated producer who has worked on a number of film and television projects over her career, including Bong Joon Ho’s Okja and Joe Talbot’s feature film debut The Last Black Man in San Francisco. She has also produced Minari, written and directed by Lee Isaac Chung. In late 2023, she partnered with Oscar-nominated and Emmy-winning Steven Yeun to head his production company, Celadon Pictures.

Amy Ma is currently the Production Management Manager for Netflix’s Chinese-language content. With an extensive experience in TV and film production, she excels in international co-productions and cross-country resource integration. Amy has collaborated with renowned filmmakers like Huang Jianxin, Zhang Meng, Sylvia Chang, French director Rachid Hami, and Academy Award-nominated Bhutanese director Pawo Choyning Dorji. She facilitated the shooting of Wake Up 2 in Jordan and Run For Love across eight U.S. states. She also produced Special Couple, the first official China-UK co-production film. In 2020, her short film Taipei Suicide Story was selected for the Cinéfondation competition at Cannes. In 2021, American Girl won four Golden Horse Awards. Her 2022 film For My Country was selected for the Venice Film Festival, and Tales of Taipei was the closing film for the 60th Golden Horse Awards in 2023.
